It’s Christmas Eve! Know what that means? Time to make some cookies for Santa.
Mom and I made these sugar cookies together tonight, but we kind of struggled with them. Our kitchen gets really hot when the oven is on, and since there is so much butter in the dough, it made them sticky pretty quick. So, word of warning, if your kitchen has the same problems I would roll out the cookie dough in small batches. Otherwise you will have to keep putting the dough back in the refrigerator to let it harden some. Now that that’s out of the way, time for the ingredients! This recipe came from a Cookie Collection cookbook and was listed under the “All-Time Favorites” section.
- 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- Colored sprinkles or sugar for decorating (optional)
